After their exhibition at the KOGART Gallery in Budapest, Mihály Munkácsy’s Hay Harvest and Pál Szinyei Merse’s Mother and Two Children were loaned to the Hungarian National Gallery, where they were on display in the permanent collection during the fall of 2009 and most of 2010.

In 2012, 19 important works of early to mid-20th century art were placed on long-term loan to the Hungarian Consulate, New York.
The Salgo Trust’s Moholy-Nagy painting “Architecture 1” (c. 1922) was featured in Dr. Joyce Tsai’s exhibition “The Shape of Things to Come: The Paintings of Moholy-Nagy” at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art from July 5th to September 27th, 2015.
The Salgo Trust’s painting by Agost Canzi, “Portrait of a Lady with a Parakeet” of 1856, one of the masterpieces of the collection, and one of Canzi’s greatest works, was on display at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ in the exhibition “Striking Resemblance: The Changing Art of Portraiture” from 25 January to 13 July 2014. The exhibition was curated by Andrew W. Melon Liaison for Academic Programs Donna Gustafson.
József Koszta’s painting Annuska in a Hat (c. 1920) was on loan to a Hungarian traveling exhibition on the oeuvre of Koszta during 2014-16. The exhibition was curated by Dr. Anna Szinyei-Merse, a friend of the Salgo Trust for many years. The associate curator was Péter Fertőszegi, an art historian who is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Kovács Gábor Art Foundation in Budapest. Among other venues, it was shown at the Castle Garden Bazaar in Budapest and the János Tornyai Museum in Hómezővásárhely.
The Salgo Trust’s important Moholy-Nagy painting “Architecture 1” (c. 1922) continues to ride the wave of rekindled interest in Moholy-Nagy’s oeuvre inaugurated by our own exhibition “Technical Detours: The Early Moholy-Nagy Reconsidered”, which opened in New York in February 2006. The culmination of this revival is “Moholy-Nagy: Future Present”, the grand retrospective of his work shown at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago and at the Los Angeles County Museum in 2016-17. The curatorial team consisted of the distinguished art historians and curators Carol S. Eliel, Karole P. B. Vail and Matthew S. Witkovsky.
Three Hungarian-period photographs by the great Hungarian-American photographer André Kertész are on display at the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ from 5 September 2017 to 7 January 2018.
Four of our works, by János Mattis-Teutsch, Béla Kádár and Hugó Scheiber, were shown in an exhibition entitled “Flouquert, Kassák, Léonard: The Architecture of Images During the Interwar Period,” held at the Mu.Zee in Oostend, Belgium from 6 June to 4 November, 2018. The curator, Adriaan Goniessen assembled a beautiful exhibition that compared the works of the two Belgian artists with that of the Hungarian artist, editor and impresario Lajos Kassák, placing works by all of them into their respective artistic contexts.
